Fans of the 2024 Little League Baseball® World Series, Presented by T-Mobile, will have the opportunity to witness a historic event on Sunday, August 25, with a special MLB Pitch Hit & Run Team Championship being held for the first time on Volunteer Stadium at 9 a.m. ET.

Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run is a free event that provides boys and girls an opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills, while earning a chance to attend and perform during the MLB World Series! Athletes are tested, and their measurements are recorded. Based on their scores, they advance from a local event to a Team Championship held in MLB stadiums. Top scores then qualify for an all-expenses-paid trip for two to compete at the Finals, which is hosted at the MLB World Series.

Fans are highly encouraged to come out to the Little League® International Complex to support the participants, with no cost to attend and seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Gates to the complex will open at 7 a.m. To learn more about attending the event, including what items are permitted into the complex, check out LittleLeague.org/Visit.

The event will welcome baseball and softball players (ages 11-12) to Volunteer Stadium, including Little Leaguers from 14 different leagues. Learn more about the MLB Pitch Hit & Run competition, including how to sign up to host a 2025 event, by visiting PitchHitandRun.com.

Additional information for the 2024 Little League Baseball World Series, including visitor resources, special guests, and more will be made available in the coming months at LittleLeague.org/WorldSeries. As a reminder, there is no cost to attend the Little League Baseball World Series as parking and tickets are completely FREE. For 110 years, Lance has fueled hardworking people — from kids on the field to parents in the stands. The official snack of Little League® is honoring dedicated coaches with the Lance Coach of the Year Award.

The Coach of the Year award honors leaders in their community who emulate the spirit of the Lance brand, powering hardworking heroes on and off the field. These inspirational coaches create an environment of belonging, teach life skills through sports, focus on positive reinforcement, and promote sportsmanship and respectful behavior, encouraging kids to be their best selves through their coaching and mentorship.

After a record-breaking number of submissions, a panel of judges from Lance, Positive Coaching Alliance, and Little League has identified three remarkable individuals as the 2024 Little League Coaches of the Year. These coaches selflessly volunteer their time to make a difference in the lives of their players and communities and embody what Lance stands for.

“Lance has been fueling families across America for over 100 years. Whether on-the-go or at the game, Lance Sandwich Crackers help keep you going. Little League coaches demonstrate the very best of what it means to be a hard worker,” said Victoria Strang, Lance Marketing Director. “We’re honored to recognize these coaches through our annual Coach of the Year award. Gatorade, the Official Sports Performance Beverage of Little League®, has stepped up to the plate for the second consecutive year to provide Gatorade Hydration Packs and donations to benefit more than 6,500 Little Leaguers® involved in the Little League Urban Initiative program across 16 states.

“The Gatorade Equity in Sports initiative provides tremendous impact to our local leagues and Urban Initiative program,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Little League Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Business Relationship Officer. “We appreciate the continuous support of our relationship with Gatorade, which has allowed us to focus on our mission and make Little League more accessible for everyone.”

During the 2024 season, every local league affiliated with the Little League Urban Initiative was once again provided with the opportunity to opt-in, on a first come, first served basis, to the Gatorade Hydration Pack Program, which provides 15 Gatorade squeeze bottles (20 oz.) and 45 Gatorade powder sticks (1.23 oz.) to each team within the league at the Coach Pitch Division and above.

The first 50 local Urban Initiative leagues that opted into the program this year will impact more than 6,500 Little Leaguers in underserved communities in 16 different states. To go along with the Hydration Packs, Gatorade also included a donation of $1,000 to each league to help with their operational expenses and programming and to help enhance the experience for the players.

“We are so excited to be receiving this grant,” said Tanya Arrellin, Las Vegas Little League Treasurer. “Our league is still feeling the aftereffects of the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon wildfires that devastated our community, so these donations will definitely help us. Thank you all for the hydration packs, the kids loved them! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you and are truly honored!”

Since establishing a multi-year $10M commitment to work with organizations across the country to provide access to opportunities in sport for all athletes through programming, resources, and training in 2022, Gatorade has made supporting the Little League community a part of its Equity in Sports Initiative. For more information on impact to date, visit Gatorade.com/Community.

The Little League Urban Initiative has provided opportunities for underserved communities to have access to Little League programs, which has benefited tens of thousands of children and volunteers across the country, since its creation in 1999. The program gives opportunities to over 50,000 players and 4,000 Little League teams and has helped complete nearly 30 field renovation projects around the country.

2024 AU Pro Games Check Presentation for DSG Foundation Grant

Thanks to the generous support of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Program, South Little League out of Winston Salem, North Carolina, has received a $25,000 Sports Matter grant to support the league’s operations and help provide additional opportunities to the children within the community.

“We are extremely grateful to our friends at The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation for providing this grant to South Little League, which will support league operations and the overall experience for kids playing baseball and softball in their community,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Little League Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Business Relationship Officer. “Through this financial support, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation is continuing to help us create more opportunity for children to participate fully in the Little League experience and furthering our commitment to community around the world.”

Since 1965, South Little League has been a chartered Little League program and today offers opportunities in baseball, softball, and the Little League Challenger Division®. The league also recently became involved with the Little League® Urban Initiative, which provides opportunities for underserved communities to reap the benefits of having local Little League programs in their neighborhoods, and currently has 16 teams chartered for the 2024 season, including a pair of softball programs.

“We are proud to support South Little League with this Sports Matter Grant as they are an organization that fosters teamwork and resilience for young athletes in their community,” said Kristen Garmey, Director of Sports Matter and Community Relations at The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation. “We at The DICK’S Foundation believe that sports have the power to change lives and serve as one of the most effective tools for youth development and helping kids on and off the diamond.”

In coordination with the Girls with Game 50 Celebration, the check for the grant was presented to the league during the opening game of the 2024 AU Pro Games at the LLSWS, Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods, on August 7 before play was suspended due to Tropical Storm Debby.

“Our league started in 1965 and we had old wooden light poles that were outdated, so in 2021 we had to take one of them down and started fundraising because 80-90% of our league is served are on those younger kids’ fields. We’ve gotten to about $300,000 but the quotes we have are right around $330,000 so this does it,” said Kevin Stogner, South Little League Treasurer. “This opportunity helps us to launch this project and give the kids a safe place to play at night. Without this, the league wouldn’t make it, so this pushes us past the finish line.”

In 2017,  DICK’S Sporting Goods partnered with Little League for a five-year, $500,000 commitment, and since becoming the Official Sporting Goods Retailer of Little League, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation has provided grants and supported programs for hundreds of leagues since the inception of the foundation a decade ago.

63x30 Vision Partner Lockup

Little League® International is pleased to have been announced as one of the nearly 20 partner organizations for The Aspen Institute’s new 63×30 Vision, aimed at getting at least 63% of youth playing sports by the end of the decade in 2030.

“As the world’s largest youth sports organization, we have an obligation to help lead the way in getting more children involved in playing sports and there is no better organization to rally behind than The Aspen Institute and Project Play,” said Patrick Wilson, Little League Chief Operations Officer. “We are honored to serve as one of the partner organizations for this great new vision and look forward to helping to make this goal a reality by 2030.”

Since 2013, Project Play, the flagship initiative of The Aspen Institute’s Sports and Society Program, has provided insights, ideas, and opportunities to build healthy children and communities through sports. Now, for the first time, the initiative has adopted an ambitious target for youth sports participation as a catalyst for new actions and investment from the public and private sectors.

The 63×30 Vision is focused on getting more kids actively involved over the next few years as only 54% of children ages 6-17 in the U.S. played on a team or took lessons in 2022, down from 58% in 2017, according to federal data shared by The Aspen Institute.

As one of the partner organizations, Little League joins the other partnering organizations in committing to taking actions that can get and keep more young people playing sports, from creating affordable programs in underserved neighborhoods to promoting multi-sport sampling to developing more coaches to serve children’s needs.

In addition to Little League, other leading sports, health, and philanthropy organizations who are serving as partner organizations for the 63×30 Vision include The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation, ESPN, Gatorade, the Hospital for Special Surgery, LeagueApps, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, National Basketball Association, National Recreation and Park Association, Nike, PGA of America, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, Stack Sports, TeamSnap, Under Armour, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, and U.S. Tennis Association.

The 63X30 national roundtable will build on the work of The Aspen Institute’s previous roundtables, Project Play 2020 and Project Play 2024. Members of those groups, which included Little League Baseball and Softball, introduced an array of mutually reinforcing activities that supported grassroots organizations. They also partnered to create the How to Coach Kids coach development platform, built the award-winning Don’t Retire Kid awareness campaign, and launched the Children’s Bill of Rights in Sports, a framework endorsed by more than 500 leading organizations, athletes, and government entities.

Be sure to catch up on all the fun and excitement from the weekend by checking out the #PlayBallWeekend on social media and scrolling through MLB’s Play Ball accounts on Facebook, Twitter/X, and Instagram.

PLAY BALL WEEKEND is a worldwide effort to inspire participation in baseball and softball through activities hosted by MLB, MiLB & Partner League Clubs, MLB’s international offices throughout the world, and youth league partners. A primary focus of PLAY BALL WEEKEND is about connecting with youth from different backgrounds, while closing equity gaps to accessing the game, and encouraging kids, families and communities to PLAY BALL all summer long.

In celebration of National Little League® Week (June 10-16) and as part of its ongoing partnership with Little League Baseball and Softball, Ball Park® Buns announced the brand is bringing back a fan-favorite contest – Swing Big for the Little League World Series. Ball Park Buns is inviting fans across the country to step up to the plate for a chance to win tickets to the action-packed Championship Weekend of the 2024 Little League Baseball® World Series (LLBWS), slated for August 24-25.

Sports enthusiasts have until Sunday, July 7 to visit BallParkBuns.com/SwingBig to share in 500 words or less their story on why they should win the ultimate Little League World Series trip. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and demonstrated need. The prize package, valued at $15,000, includes four passes to the 2024 LLBWS Championship Weekend in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, roundtrip airfare, a three-night hotel stay, a $500 gift card towards the Little League Official Store, and a tour of the Little League International Complex including the World of Little League® Museum.

“We received an overwhelming amount of responses last year for our Swing Big contest, and each entry was a testament to the deep love and passion fans have for the game,” said Taylor Burgess, Brand Manager, Ball Park Buns & Rolls. “We are so excited to celebrate National Little League Week and give another deserving fan the opportunity to experience the Little League World Series and witness the joy the game brings to people’s lives.”

In addition to the return of Swing Big, Ball Park Buns is also bringing back its Ball Park Buns Pin Trading Post at this year’s LLWBS. This premier one-stop-shop is a place for fans to collect and trade pins and win epic prizes all throughout this year’s tournament. Ball Park Buns will drop new, exclusive, limited-edition pins and branded lanyards each day of the tournament.
